Range

Dino Toys has a good selection of jigsaw puzzles. They make puzzles for children, with smaller amount of pieces and puzzles that are for adults. Their largest jigsaw puzzle to date is a 6000-piece puzzle. The most common though, as expected, are in the usual range from 500 to 3000 pieces.

Themes are landscapes, animals, maps, art, collages and original pictures. Having that said, it is also possible to find pictures that don’t fit in any of these categories, and some that are unique to the brand. We would say there are many options to choose from, so that you can probably  find something to your taste.

Box

Dino Puzzle boxes are of good quality. They come wrapped in plastic to protect them.

On the front side you can find the picture of the puzzle, the number of pieces, the brand and company’s Logo. At the sides, you find again the company’s name and Logo, the picture of the puzzle, the number of the pieces, the dimensions (in cm) and the artist. Interestingly they don’t state the name of the picture which can be of a nuisance to some consumers. At the back side you can find again a little info about the company as well as their contact information. A small note is also made about the quality of the products.

When it comes to size, the boxes are a little taller than the typical European puzzles (like Ravensburger) and smaller in the other dimensions. Also, noteworthy is that the size of a 1000-piece puzzle and a 2000 is the same size. Bigger ones are similar style but bigger, which is to be expected as there are more pieces inside the box.

The image on the front of the box does not fill all the space, and it could have been a little bigger so that someone can see better the details of the picture. Still, this was not an issue with the images we have made so far.

The Jigsaw puzzle

In the box you can find the jigsaw puzzle pieces sealed in a plastic wrap.  Apart from the pieces, you won’t find anything more in the box.

The pieces them self are quite thick and look sturdy. You will not be disappointed by them. They have the typical jigsaw puzzle shapes you would find in a grid cut. That is no surprise since the grid cut is most of the time the case in puzzles from European companies. Their cut was clear, and the pieces fitted well together. We had no problem of putting the pieces together, and we didn’t have any issues or doubts if a piece was in a right place or not. The only time we had somewhat of a difficulty was in the border pieces, but then again, it is not something that should trouble you. All the pieces came cut, with no combined pieces in the box. They seemed to withstand the puzzling procedure and give the impression that they would hold if you decide to puzzle the same puzzle over again multiple times.

When you want to move pieces or larger sections around, they have somewhat difficulties to do so. We wouldn’t name them loose fit, but still they are not as tight as to move them around without any help from a sheet of paper or something similar.

The print is clean and with vivid colours. There doesn’t seem to be any issue with faded colours or blurred images. Their thickness was also good, ranging in the middle range, but still you feel that the pieces are robust and can be puzzle over and over again. A

The Price tag, Value for Money

We haven’t heard anything bad about the brand from the community. Their clients seem to be happy with their purchase. That includes us, and we would say, they are always an interesting experience when we puzzle them. As for their price tag, they are in the mid-range, where you would expect a typical 1000-piece puzzle to be found in Europe. We would say they are a good Value for money, and are definitely worth a try. Happy puzzling.
